The Michael Job Center Update

Dear Sponsors -

Warm greetings from Portland, Maine! After a rainy spring and a lot of travel for Steve and I, it has been a

beautiful summer here. I just wanted to update you on some of the ways your contributions are changing lives

at The Michael Job Center. Your contributions are making a difference!

June 30 – July 2 was the 6th annual conference of persecuted Christians held at the MJC in honor of Michael Job.

When I was at the Center in June, I was so touched by the story of one young man I met who had attended medical college with Dr. Job’s son Michael [who was martyred in 1999 by fanatical Hindus].

Text Box: On the second day of the conference, a young Doctor surprised us all with his amazing story. His name is Dr. Gaurav and he was Michael’s good friend in school. Michael Job was the
only Christian in the entire college of Hindus and often wondered if his life had an impact.

Dr Gaurav admitted being angry with God after Michael’s death, but through the years
would often think of Michael’s gentle example of Christian love.

When he visited the Michael Job Center for the very first time, he was so overwhelmed by
the presence of the Spirit of God there; he converted from Hinduism to Christianity!

He wept as he spoke to the crowd about the example of Michael, and about the impact the
girls at the MJC had on him as well. These girls – many of whom have undergone tremendous sufferings at such a young age still have an impact on those who meet them. They are a unique blend of child innocence, and raw courage because of the reality of persecution all around them.

Girls like Amy Car Michael, who was found buried alive as a young infant, or Paulette, who
is small for her age because her persecuted family was unable to feed her properly.

Today Amy and Paulette are healthy and happy at the Center. Your faithful sponsorship
will ensure that all of the girls continue to grow in all that God has called them to be.

On behalf of the children – I thank you. For I know that God has a plan for these girls who are considered ‘The least of these’. He is already using them in powerful ways.
