Dear Sponsors -
We have good news! Because of your help, we were able to accept 25 new girls from Bhutan in January! Bhutan is a nation where there is no religious freedom, and these girls have all come to us from families who have undergone incredible hardships for their faith.
I would like to say thanks to all of you who expressed your condolences for D. Job and his family following the tragic death of their only remaining son John, in January. The family is doing well considering the blow, and as always Dr. Job has been constant source of inspiration, stength and courage in the midst of trouble to us, as well as all of our girls at the Center, and thousands who know him or know of him.
I attended the funeral and spent a week with the family, and the prayers of many around the world were felt.
The girls were deeply touched by John's death. Mostly the older girls who have been at the center longer and who had more of an opportunity to know him. But I think mostly they were affected because of heir great love for Dr. Job, [often referred to affectionately as 'Father-Uncle Job'] and Dr. Mary Job. But - our girls are already all too familiar with the difficulties that life often meets us with, and they have the example of their parents, and of Job and Mary.
They also have the benefit of being taught about Christian martyrs/heroes from the time of Christ until now, and they face life with the same fiery attitude that gives them the courage to be willing to face whatever comes to them.
It is as if they have an acute awareness of 'the great cloud of witnesses' that surround us, and they realize that they are a part of something much bigger than this mortal life.
Girls like Christina and Ophelia are full of the Spirit of God and ready to go out and serve God with all their hearts.
What a privilege we have to be a part of God's plan in this way! I know all the girls will continue to pray for you and your families, and be thankful for you always.
May the love of God be with you..
